DAIEI Iwai Bashi Celebration Chopsticks - 5 Sets are for serving festive meals at celebratory occasions.
They're essential for auspicious occasions such as New Year's and wedding ceremonies, and are also used for Okuizome, a Japanese ceremony and meal that celebrates a baby's 100th day after birth.
Both ends are thin. It is said that one end is used for people to eat and the other end is used for the gods to eat.
These special chopsticks have the meaning of thanking the gods and making an offering to them, and then receiving their power and blessings by eating the offering.
